5,0 de 5 estrellas The Second Edition of the SAIC Solution by Bob Beyster ...
The Second Edition of the SAIC Solution by Bob Beyster provides frank, candid and valuable insight into the lessons learned growing, managing and then stepping down from the nation's largest and most successful employee-owned high tech company. Dr. Beyster pulls no punches in lamenting the Board's abandonment of employee ownership after his departure and faulting his own shortcomings in succession management. The book is a clear, must-read read of the advantages and challenges of starting and running an employee-owned company. But it's more than that. I suggest you read this book if you want to learn valulable lessons in how to succed in running a company from a founder and CEO who did just that. I have spoken with thousands of employee-owners who were there and overwhelmingly attest to the validity and wisdom of the lessons provided in this book.

5,0 de 5 estrellas and I am amazed at the number of students that are interested in ...
The SAIC Solution book was inspirational and educational. As a 33 year former employee of the company I can attest to the fact that the book told an accurate story of the company led by Dr. Beyster and built by the employees. It is a powerful story for other founders, CEOs, and boards to strongly consider. I teach undergraduate students at UCSD, and I am amazed at the number of students that are interested in the employee ownership aspect of working for a company. Many are interested in joining a similar company when they graduate. The principles and rewards make a lot of sense to them.
I highly recommend the book and hope that more leaders will read it, be inspired, and strongly consider going this direction. I was one of thousands that benefited from this "experiment."

5,0 de 5 estrellas Indispensable practical advice for scientists starting small businesses
As the founder and president of a small R&D company, I found this book packed with useful insight and practical wisdom. We have formulated a similar business model over the years, with somewhat different focus, but the cultural values are mostly the same, and thankfully here they are shown to lead to success and growth over time. I have strongly recommended the book to all in the company.

3,0 de 5 estrellas Beyster's uncompromising vision
I used to work for Beyster. Yup, this is just what it appears to be, SAIC was a great company built on Bob Beyster's uncompromising vision for employee-ownership. What's missing is an objective picture of the autocratic enterprise, not responsible to shareholders or to a real board of directors.
